Book an OLS Site Assessment

Understand your property and the natural processes shaping it.

Every property has its own history, conditions and challenges. Our Site Assessment takes a closer look at how your land is currently functioning, what may be limiting its health and where opportunities exist for improvement.

Through an on-site assessment and relevant background research, we examine the relationship between your property's vegetation, soils, water, landscape features and past management. Rather than simply identifying problems, we aim to understand the conditions contributing to them.

What's included?

You'll receive a personalised assessment document covering relevant aspects of your property, which may include:

  • Property overview — Location, landscape characteristics, land use history and your goals for the property.

  • Vegetation — Existing vegetation communities, native regeneration, introduced species and changes to the landscape over time.

  • Soils and water — Soil types, drainage, erosion, water movement and other factors influencing landscape health.

  • Landscape function — How soil, water, sunlight, vegetation, biodiversity and human activity interact across the property.

  • Maps and supporting information — Relevant mapping, site observations and reference material to help understand the landscape.

  • Overall health summary — An assessment of current conditions, underlying issues and opportunities for regeneration and improved management.

Tailored to your property

Whether you're managing a residential garden, grassland, rural acreage or native bushland, each assessment is adapted to the property's characteristics, your objectives and the agreed scope of work.

Not every property requires the same level of investigation. The document will focus on the information most relevant to understanding and managing your land.

What happens next?

Your completed assessment provides a record of the property's current condition and a reference point for measuring future improvements.

From here, you can use the findings to guide your own decisions or work with Organic Land Services to develop a more detailed Management Plan, outlining the practical steps towards your goals.
